Alternative dev software

Hi

I was wondering what software people use to write ASP.NET applications.

I'm enrolled in MS's great WebsiteSpark dev programme and so get Visual Studio to use which is very welcome, don't misunderstand me.

However I fnd it intensely frustrating to use - without meaning to slate the dev environment, there are the same bugs in it that were present in VS2010 such as the copy/paste one, the way in which you can't really use the graphical view even to make subtle changes because of errors in the parser that then muck up the Html tag wrapping leaving you wondering where the text between your H1 tags went (for instance), and VS2012 has introduced the "every file you ever open prompts to save changes when there aren't any" one.

As I said, not meaning to sound ungrateful, but I wonder if I'd make faster progress with another dev environment. Ideally I'd like one with the ability to switch into graphical view to make some changes, one which puts the cursor at the right point when you switch between views, one where you can click in the "tree" of controls to select an item (say a div or a panel) and so on which VS looks like it's meant to do, but, doesn't actually do.

With ASP I used to use Dreamweaver which really was a dream to use, and I'm wondering whether to download an eval copy of that and move to it.

What do you use?

Thanks

And, again, thanks to MS for making all this kit available.
