I have VSE2010 Windows 7 Home Premium Laptop. I had built a web site several years ago which worked fine when uploaded and published via VSE FTP, with windows XP Desktop. When I revisted my web site this week with my Windows 7 lap top, I noticed that the CSS file had not rendered. The web site was just in black and white. Even though I have looked at several posts, I was unable to resolve this issue. As an exercise I therefore decided to build one of the standard web applications on VSE2010 and see if the web site will be displayed correctly on Godaddy. After "build" and "Publish" on VSE, I then uploaded via the FTP, which was successful, However, the web site displayed "maintenance". I then tried to upload a similar site via Filezilla, and again Maintenance was "displayed". I have 2 questions, the first one is why is "maintenance" always being displayed when I tried via VSE FTP, and the second question is when I upload via filezilla, do I upload the folder to httpdocs, or do I upload the files individually to httpdocs,or indeed to the root. I can't find the exact info on the web.
