I just upgraded my computer's Visual Studio 2015 Community software from RC to RTM. The ASP.Net Web Tools failed the first time. Succeeded the second time. But the launch icons are at the top of my Windows 7 start menu instead of in their own folder. In fact, there are only 2 shortcuts left in my "Visual Studio 2015 Folder".
I upgraded using the freshly released RTM .ISO.
I am not sure this was the best way to update. But I am not aware of all possible methods. Can you update a version of Visual Studio 2015 from RC to RTM from inside the software itself? Or just by checking Windows update?
It's somewhat confusing to see an offering of languages like Visual Basic C++ and F# but not to see my preferred language of C# under the "Languages" offered for installation. I am guessing it's because it was already there. But at the same time, so was "ASP.Net Web Tools 2015" and "Sql Server Data Tools". They were already installed and yet offered as install options. So, it's somewhat confusing.
I think I have a less than perfect version of Visual Studio 2015 on my machine now.
I guess I can move the stray shortcuts into their proper folders.
