request.form("__EVENTTARGET") returns a comma

Hi,

I´m using a asp:button to save some things in a db.

 the problem is the __EVENTTARGET is not returning the ID, but a comma. (",")

 I noticed this before, with another control, and I didn´t have the energy to investigate it. Therefore, the comma is triggering another process, so this is turning out to be a problem...

any ideas?
