Hi,
I've just downloaded and started playing around with the Web Deployment Project download. It looks promising, but when I try to use it with the web site I'm developing, I get an error when building the deployment project. More specifically, the build failed, with the message:
error MSB6006: "aspnet_merge.exe" exited with code 1.
More specifically yet, when I execute aspnet_merge from the command prompt with the same arguments as MSBuild does, I get the following message:
An error occurred when merging assemblies: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
I tried running aspnet_merge under the VS debugger to at least try and get a stack trace, but the app just vanishes without any exceptions being trapped.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this or how to get more diagnostic info out of aspnet_merge?

I noticed that aspnet_merge has a logfile parameter. When I used it, the output from the logfile didnt seem to indicate anything out of the ordinary.
