Hello!

Summary:

How I can get my Visual Web Developer 2012(with ASP.NET 4.5) to work withSql Server 2008 R2 Express?

Details:

I have been running Visual Web Developer 2010 Expresswith SQL SERVER 2008 R2 Express.I recently UPGRADED to Visual Web Developer 2012 Express andSql Server 2012 Express. I used the option of UPGRADING from SQL SERVER 2008 R2 toSQL SERVER 2012.  I finally got the above to work!ASP.NET 4.5 works and SQL SERVER 2012 worksand they both work together! YAY!  It was not easy!

Then I called up myinternet hosting company and asked themif they could host SQL SERVER 2012. They said NO---not yet. What they CAN do is host ASP.NET 4.5 withSQL SERVER 2008 R2. So I would now like tofind out how I (on my own personal computer)get my Visual Web Developer 2012(with ASP.NET 4.5) to work withSql Server 2008 R2 Express. Right now, my ASP.NET 2010 EXPRESS seemsto be still working and it also seems to be working with SQL SERVER 2008 R2(it can successful show databases using the LISTVIEW control.) I can still bring up SQL SERVER 2008 R2Management Studio. It shows me the list of databases. But then when I try to actually look at the data in one of thetables it gives me this error message:"INVALID PREFIX OR SUFFIX CHARACTERS"    "(MS VISUAL DATABASE TOOLS)"So, I would like to:

1.  Get my SQL SERVER 2008 R2 working again.
2.  Get ASP.NET 4.5 to work with ****SQL SERVER 2008 R2****

Thanks for your help!

David
